Truth, I went through a spell after lockdown where I had totally lost my way with public speaking. Felt as though Iwas missing the mark with every big presentation! Rushing, waffling, lack of clarity - all of the classics 😂 Fortunately, I had the opportunity to work with Dasha at Frog Talk and we stripped things back to basics.
Highlighted a few key takeaways, having reflected on the course 8 months later....-Emphasis on story telling - What is this talk meant to do to your audience? Killer question that allows you to objectively review your script and presentation in line with.
-Empathy mapping. What do my audience feel about my subject? What does my audience care about? Again important factors to re-consider when planning out your slides.
-Run-through facial exercises pre-meeting. Sounds strange and well frankly it is if you do them for the first time but an absolute game changer.
Still got huge strides to take in this area but getting there, one step at a time.
